If you try for one week and meet constant battles. Hold off. My oldest was potty trained shortly after turning 3. My youngest was trained at 2 1/2. Both are boys. My oldest has a control issue where everything must be in his time. My youngest had problems knowing WHEN he needed to go. He always went after he had already started going in his pants.
