After 3 weeks of staring at the brown dirt of my mushroom growing kit , I’m starting to wonder if I’ve been duped out of my $20! Where are my mushrooms that should have grown last week?
The instruction says they will start growing after 5-10 days. Maybe I have dud mushrooms that have decided to stay in the dirt and not pop up.
I have been spritzing the dirt every 2-3 days and keeping it in the cool dry room that is my laundry like what the instructions says… Hold on, after careful inspection, I see small white moldy lumps in the dirt. Is that where mushrooms come from?
Does anyone out there know anything about growing mushrooms? I think I need help…
I don’t consider myself as having a green thumb, but with the smell of flowers in the spring air, I felt motivated to grow something. I came across a kit to grow mushrooms in Big W today and decided to try it out. I think Jeremy will enjoy watching them grow and harvesting them.

This is the mushroom kit I used.
The instructions are quite simple and even someone like myself who only reads instructions after unsuccessfully assembling things can grow these mushrooms. Stay tuned in the next few weeks as I update you on their growth. Surely, it can’t be that hard to grow them. Spritz a bit of water every few days, keep it moist…easy stuff!
Oh, and it helps if you like eating mushrooms…
With Father’s Day only a few days away, I decided to get the paint and paint brushes out and let Jeremy go crazy on the canvas. I used the Crayola Washable Paint and a canvas (which can be bought at any craft, $2 shop, Target/ Big W/K-Mart or Bunnings) and let Jeremy’s fingers do the painting.

For my Papa.
We did this last year and found it to be an unreal gift idea, it’s personal, cheap and fun! I’m hoping to have a collection of Jeremy’s paintings covering a wall one day.
